OSU settles additional sex abuse claims

COLUMBUS – Ohio State has reached settlements with seven more survivors in sex abuse cases involving Dr. Richard Strauss.

The most recent settlements total approximately $247,000.

The university has now reached settlement agreements with 296 survivors, more than half of the plaintiffs, for more than $60 million.

Strauss abused hundreds of male athletes while was employed as a physician from 1978 to 1998 and an investigation found that university officials failed to act to stop the abuse or punish him at the time.

Strauss committed suicide in 2005.
