OSU student fights off attacker

COLUMBUS – Ohio State University police say a female student fought off an attacker on North Campus Tuesday night.

They say the woman reported being confronted by a man while walking back to her dorm between 11:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. in the area of Woodruff Avenue between Schoenbaum Hall, Gerlach Hall and Norton House.

Police say they woman told them grabbed her by the arm and pushed her against a wall before grabbing her by the throat while making several verbal advances.

The student fought back, hitting and kicking the suspect prior to running away to safety, police said.

The suspect is described a white male, with a medium build and brown hair, between 5′ 6″ and 5′ 8″ tall. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, possibly black in color and his voice was described as “slightly raspy and sort of deep,” according to university police.
