OSU to don special unis for Penn St.

COLUMBUS — The Buckeyes will be wearing special uniforms for Saturday’s Big Ten East Division showdown with Penn State.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer says revenge could be a factor against the Nittany Lions.

No. 6 Ohio St. (6-1, 4-0) vs. No. 2 Penn St. (7-0, 4-0), Ohio Stadium, Oct. 28 (3:30 p.m./FOX)

Last year the Buckeyes were ranked No. 2 and stunned by unranked Penn State 24-21.

This time, the Nittany Lions are the ones ranked No. 2, and the No. 6 Buckeyes will try to beat them on Saturday.

Meyer says he has played the revenge card with his players to motivate them in the past with varying results. He doesn’t know yet if he’ll use it this week.

“Sure. Is revenge a motivator, yeah, it is. I’m not saying this will be it,” he told reporters Monday. “But there’s times where we’ve used it and we look silly using it. There’s other times that worked.”

Meyer points out that the response of young players to that form of motivation is unpredictable.
