OSU trustees OK Day contract extension

COLUMBUS – The OSU Board of Trustees has approved a three-year contract extension for head football coach Ryan Day that will keep him on the sidelines at least through the 2026 football season.

His salary goes up to an annualized rate of $6 million for next season, $6.5 million in 2021 and $7.6 million in 2022. Increases after that will be determined by Athletic Director Gene Smith and the trustees.

Ohio State went 9-0 in the Big Ten in 2019 and Day became the first Ohio State coach since 1979 to be named the conference’s Coach of the Year.
