COLUMBUS – The Game may be more than four weeks away but another Ohio State-Michigan blood feud resumes this week: The Ohio State vs. Michigan Blood Battle.
Now in its 41st year, the four-week competition pits each school’s students, staff, faculty and fans against each other to see who can collect the most blood donations.
Officials say the donations are more important than ever because communities nationwide continue to experience blood supply shortages.
Ohio State will host 48 blood drives around campus throughout the Blood Battle, which begins at the Schottenstein Center this morning and runs through Nov. 23.
Everyone who donates blood during the kickoff event will receive a free Blood Battle T-shirt, a $5 Roosters gift card, and will be entered in a drawing to win tickets to the home football matchup between Ohio State and Indiana on Nov. 12.
