OSU wins first Big Ten hockey title

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Buckeyes clinched their first outright Big Ten regular-season men’s hockey championship with a win over Michigan Saturday night.

No. 5/6 Ohio State (19-8-5, 12-6-4-3 Big Ten) secured the top seed and a first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament.

After playing to a 3-3 tie through regulation and 5-on-5 overtime, Mason Jobst scored on a breakaway in the 3-on-3 overtime to give the Buckeyes the extra point in the standings.

OSU will host a semifinal game on Sunday, March 17th at 3:30 p.m. at Value City Arena.
