Pay Day: OSU assistant earns $487K for filling Meyer’s role

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio State assistant Ryan Day earned $487,000 for leading Ohio State through Urban Meyer’s suspension.

The co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach was the stand-in while Meyer served a three-game suspension for his mismanagement of former assistant Zach Smith.

Smith was accused of domestic violence and other behavior.

Day was informed of the bonus in a letter dated Monday from athletic director Gene Smith.
