COLUMBUS – Authorities say a pedestrian died Tuesday night on the West Side after being struck by two vehicles.
Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin says the person, whose name was not released pending notification of next-of-kin, was crossing from the north side of W. Broad Street to the south side of the street outside a marked crossing west of Broadlawn Avenue at 8:26 p.m. when they were hit by a 2014 Chrysler 300, driven by William Luke of Gahanna, which was traveling eastbound on Broad Street.
A 2010 Nissan Rogue, driven by Eugene Joseph of Columbus, was traveling westbound and struck the body as it lay in the roadway, Baldwin said.
The pedestrian was transported to Doctor West Hospital by Columbus Division of Fire paramedics and was pronounced dead, Baldwin said.
The accident remains under investigation.
