COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police are looking for the hit-and-run that struck a 54-year-old man on the East Side early Thursday morning, sending him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
UPDATE: Ronald Willis died at Grant Medical Center on Oct. 13 at 8:22 p.m., police said.
Ronald Willis, of Columbus, was walking along the southern berm of the exit ramp from northbound I-270 to E. Broad Street just before 3:45 a.m. when an unknown vehicle headed eastbound lost control and traveled off the northern portion of the ramp, across a grassy area and back onto the roadway where it struck Willis, according to the Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit.
The vehicle fled the scene while Willis was taken to nearby Grant Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
