COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police in Pickerington are looking for the car they say was involved in a deadly rush-hour hit-skip accident on I-70 Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., a silver or gray Chevrolet Malibu changed lanes while eastbound on the interstate at the exit to state Route 256 and struck a motorcycle with two people aboard, Commander Greg Annis said.
A passenger on the bike, Gayle Jackowski, 58, was was thrown and died later at Grant Medical Center, Annis said.
Annis says the car fled the scene driving south on 256.
Annis says investigators think the car was from a model year between 2004 and 2008, with a partial Ohio license plate number of “G**1***.” He says it will have damage to the right rear quarter panel, the right rear wheel and a broken tail light.
Police are asking anyone with any information concerning the suspect vehicle to contact the Pickerington Police Department at 614-575-6911.
