AKRON (AP) — Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth each shot 3-under 67s that leave them two shots behind leader Thomas Pieters through one round of the PGA’s Bridgestone Invitational at Akron.
McIlroy is playing for the first time since parting with caddie J.P. Fitzgerald and replacing him with Harry Diamond, his best friend.
Pieters birdied his final hole for a 65 and a one-shot lead over Russell Knox.
