NEW CARLISLE (AP) — Officials in New Carlisle are evicting a family’s 100-pound potbellied pig, saying livestock are not allowed within city limits.

The Springfield News-Sun reports that the family has been given 30 days to move the pig, named Olive, somewhere else.
Vice Mayor John Krabacher says having the pig in New Carlisle could open the door to other farm animals being kept within the city.
Misti Hedrick, a member of the family that owns Olive, says she is “like a dog, a cat.” Hedrick plans to start a petition drive to change the ban on livestock in the community. Meantime, she’s seeking a temporary home for the pig.
