COLUMBUS – Newark police say a boy’s story of a man who tried to abduct him from a city street Tuesday afternoon was not true.
The 10-year-old boy told police a man driving a black SUV approached a him in the area of Marion Court and E. Main Street, according to Division of Police spokesman Sgt. Bert Gliatta.
The child said he was able to get away and run home but further investigation revealed the incident never took place, Giatta said Friday.
