COLUMBUS – Police have arrested a Southeast Side woman and her boyfriend after a 2-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition.
Court records show the boy was found unresponsive by his grandmother at a home on Adderley Avenue Thursday afternoon and taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with multiple internal and external injuries.
The boy was in the sole care of his 19-year-old mother and her 23-year-old boyfriend and that the injuries were consistent with physical abuse, according to Det. Andre Edwards of the Columbus police Child Abuse Unit.
The mother has been charged with child endangering, while the boyfriend is facing charges for felonious assault.
The child’s mother, Carissa Thivener, was charged with endangering children and Jevonte Tucker was charged with felonious assault, police said.
