COLUMBUS, Ohio – An assistant high school band director is behind bars, accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a student and authorities fear there may be more victims, Newark police said.
Newark detectives and a Licking County Job and Family Services abuse investigator arrested Anthony Miller, 32, at Carson Elementary School on Monday on a felony charge of sexual battery, Newark police chief Steven Sarver.
The Westerville man is alleged to have had sexual relations with a student at Newark High School while working as an assistant band director, Sarver said.
Sarver says investigators found out about the incident late last week and questioned several current and former Newark High School students before deciding Sunday that there was enough evidence to file a charge. Miller’s case will be taken before a Licking County Grand Jury for consideration, Sarver said.
Sarver says authorities think there are more victims exist and are asking for anyone with information or knows a victim to contact police at 740-670-7915 or Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888.
