Police: Far East Side woman is homicide victim

COLUMBUS – Columbus police say a 58-year-old woman found dead in a home on the Far East Side Wednesday is the 118th victim of the year in the city.

A caller told police they went to check on the woman who lived at the home in the 4800 block of Carbondale Drive shortly after 6:30 p.m. and found Lisa Rocker unresponsive, Sgt. Michael Smith of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.

Officers dispatched to the scene at at 6:41 p.m. found Rocker suffering from “visible wounds caused by unknown means,” Smith said.

Paramedics from the Columbus Division of Fire and Madison Township Fire Department pronounced her dead at the scene.

Suspect arrested in teen’s death

Police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old girl earlier this month.

Javon Camper was charged with murder in the death of Aniyah Elie, 17, who took herself to a hospital where she died early on Oct. 17, a few hours after being shot in the 1300 block of N. High Street the night before, Sgt. Eric Pilya of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said .
