Police ID suspects killed

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police have identified the two robbery suspects who were shot and killed by officers after an armed robbery at a South Side Dollar General store.

Elisha Glass, 20, and Qusean Whitten, 18, were killed and two other suspects in the robbery, including a 17-year-old boy, were arrested Friday night, Sgt. Rich Weiner said.

Weiner says SWAT officers were staking out the Dollar General after some recent robberies when they saw two men enter the store, hold up store employees and customers at gunpoint, then flee with some cash.

When officers converged on the getaway car and tried to make arrests, Weiner says Glass and Whitten were killed and two others in the car were taken into custody. Two handguns were recovered at the scene.

Police are investigating whether the four were involved in any other robberies, Weiner said.
