UPPER ARLINGTON – Upper Arlington police have identified the woman whose body was found at Burbank Park Sunday.
She is Bobbie Renee Simpson, 23, but nothing else is known about her and the police are asking anyone with any information to contact them at 614-583-5160, according to a report by WBNS 10-TV.
Officer Bryan McKean says firefighters were called to the park at 8:41 a.m. on the report of a fire and found the body after extinguishing the blaze.
Police reopened the park Sunday afternoon. They said there was no immediate threat to area residents.
The state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting police in their investigation. It is currently unknown how long her body may have been in the park and whether she suffered any other injuries.
An autopsy could reveal whether the woman suffered trauma, such as a gunshot or stab wound, or whether she had drugs in her system. However, the results of toxicology reports could take several weeks.
