Police identify body, release the names of homicide victims

COLUMBUS – Human remains found in a Southwest Side home Wednesday morning have been identified as those of a 32-year-old woman, police said.

Allyson Lorenz’s body was discovered when Franklin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT officers carried out a drug raid in the 1800 block of Bashan Drive just after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus Homicide Unit said.

Police released the names of two other homicide victims following the notification of their families.

Brandon Wheat,31 was found in an alley in the 1800 block of Sullivant Avenue late Wednesday and he died at the scene, the 162nd homicide victim of the year in Columbus, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Homicide Unit said.

Charles Oliver, 48, was shot to death in an alley in the 1400 block of Oak Street on Sept 25 after neighbors reported hearing gunshots, Marable said.
