COLUMBUS – Police were still working Thursday morning to identify a woman whose body was found at a Northeast Side home Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responding to a report of a dead body at 1940 Hampstead Drive at approximately 4:40 p.m. found the woman who was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus fire personnel, said Sgt. Stanley Latta of the Homicide Unit.
Police are treating the case as the city’s 20th homicide of the year, though the victim has not been positively identified and official notification to family has not taken place.
There were no known suspects or motives. The case remains under investigation, Latta said.
