COLUMBUS – Police are looking for the driver of a car that left the scene of accident after running over a man who had been thrown from his motorcycle on the West Side last week.
Paul Miesse, 68, of Columbus, was riding a Honda Goldwing motorcycle eastbound on Sullivant Avenue at approximately 10:44 p.m. Friday when Celia Del Carmen, who turned left into oncoming traffic at Wedgewood Drive, causing Miesse’s motorcycle to strike the passenger side of Del Carmen’s Toyota Yaris, Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit said.
Miesse was ejected from the motorcycle, landing in the roadway, where a second vehicle, also travelling eastbound on Sullivant Avenue, struck him and left the scene of the crash, Wilson said.
The second vehicle is a silver Honda sedan with damage to the bumper and wheel well, Wilson said.

This is the 57th traffic related fatality in 2018.
