COLUMBUS – In hopes of finding clues that will lead them to the suspect, Columbus police have released surveillance camera images of the man they say gunned down a 40-year-old father during an attempted robbery as he was leaving a Northwest Side restaurant with his wife and their six children earlier this month.

Shueyb Abukar and his family were leaving the Golden Corral restaurant at 3710 W. Dublin-Granville Road when the gunman approached them, shot Abukar to death in what appears to be a random robbery attempt and fled in a tan four-door sedan driven by a second man, according to police.
The man is believed to be wearing “The Ohio State University” pajama pants and an OSU jersey or sweatshirt, police spokesman Sgt. David Pelphrey said.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614 645-4730 or Crime Stoppers at 614 645-TIPS.
