COLUMBUS – A 22-year-old Ohio State student was shot to death by her boyfriend, who then took his own life, in a Northwest Side apartment early Sunday morning, according to Columbus police.
Columbus police and fire personnel were called to the Taylor House apartment building at the intersection of Olentangy River Road and Bethel Road at approximately 2:33 a.m. Sunday on a report that a man and women had been found dead, Homicide Unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian said.
They found Heather Campbell and Kyle Lafferty suffering from gunshot wounds and both were pronounced dead at the scene at 3:16 a.m., Sicilian said.
Sicilian says the evidence indicates Lafferty, 25, was Campbell’s boyfriend and that he shot her before turning the gun on himself.

This is the 94th homicide of the year in Columbus.
