Within three minutes of posting video of the incident on the Division of Police Facebook page, police say they received three tips about the identity of the man seen striking the small child dozens of times outside the IGA store at 704 Parsons Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 24, Det. Andre Edwards said.
Edwards says the child was left alone in the SUV when the man and a woman went inside the store with three other children went grocery shopping.
He says police are most concerned about the well-being of the children and had not filed any charges as they continue to search for the adults and children.
