
COLUMBUS – Police are circulating a photo in hopes of finding the suspect in an early-morning shooting in the Short North that left a man dead.
A 51-year-old man was shot to death in an alleyway behind the United Dairy Farmers store in the 800 block of N. High Street at approximately 1:48 a.m., Sgt. Edward Powell III of the Columbus police homicide unit said.
Officers responding to a report of a shooting found the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, Powell said.
This was the 76th homicide in Columbus in 2022.
