Police search for woman missing near Scioto River downtown

COLUMBUS – Authorities have deployed drones, thermal imaging and have tried to track the cell phone of a 28-year-old woman but have not been able to locate Amber Evans, who has not been seen since she had a fight with her boyfriend downtown Monday night.

The Columbus Division of Police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office searched the area around the Scioto Mile, on the west bank of downtown riverfront, where Evans’ vehicle was found near the intersection of Belle Street and Washington Boulevard Monday evening after she was reported in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend but were unable to locate her.

Evans is described as 5’5” tall/122 lbs. and was last seen wearing a white parka and black leggings.

Patrol officers searched the area and uses cell phone pings while the Sheriff’s Office sent a drone and used FLIR thermal imaging in the unsuccessful search.
