COLUMBUS – Police are looking for a car involved in a hit-skip crash on Monday night that left a man hospitalized in life-threatening condition.
The man, whose name was not released, was southbound, crossing E. Whittier Street southbound just east of S. Ohio Avenue at approximately 7:25 p.m. when he was struck by a silver 2016 to 2018 Chevrolet Malibu sedan traveling westbound on E. Whittier Street, Det. Shane Karnes of the Accident Investigation Unit said.
The sedan continued westbound on Whittier, then northbound on Carpenter Street, Karnes said.
The pedestrian was transported to Grant Medical Center.
Police say the suspect car will have fresh damage to the driver’s side front bumper area and the driver’s door side mirror.
