COLUMBUS – Two Colorado men are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers more than 100 pounds of marijuana from their car during a traffic stop last week in western Madison County.
Troopers stopped Kelly Harding, 47, and Craig Voigt, 46, both from Carbondale, Colo., in their 2014 Subaru Station Wagon for a following too closely on I-70 north of London on the morning of Jan. 13, patrol spokesperson Lt. Gurjit Grewal said.
After the troopers observed “criminal indicators,” a drug-sniffing detected drugs in the car and a search revealed 123 pounds of marijuana, worth approximately $615,000, Grewal said.
The two men were taken to the Multi-County County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both second-degree felonies, punishable by up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine, Griwal said.
