COLUMBUS, Ohio – Even though the costs of attending prom have remained fairly steady, a family’s budget can’t always allow for a high-priced gown. That’s where Goodwill Columbus comes in.
The charity has collected more than 600 dresses have been collected for its annual Prom Shop, where they will be on sale for as little as $19.99, Vivian Reyna, director of Goodwill’s Retail Store Operations said.
“Our sale provides girls in central Ohio with the opportunity to achieve that perfect look for that special day,” she said.
Accessories, including jewelry, handbags and shoes, will also be available.
This Saturday’s kickoff event has been expanded to two locations: Goodwill’s Town and Country store, 51 Robinwood Avenue, and the one at 2933 Morse Road will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The stores will also accept donated formal wear, which Reyna says is tax deductible.
In operation since 1939, Goodwill Columbus is the sixth largest nonprofit and one of the top 50 largest employers in central Ohio.
