COLUMBUS – After ringing in the New Year with the highest gas prices since June, Ohio drivers are enjoying some relief at the pump.
Ohioans enjoyed the biggest price decline in the country, with the price of gasoline dropping 13 cents in the last week.

The price fell 7 cents in the last two days in Columbus to $2.13, according to a daily survey from the auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX, Inc. The price Wednesday morning was 22 cents lower than a week earlier but 50 cents higher than in 2016.
Analysts say the price drop can be attributed to less demand and adequate supply and may only be temporary.
Prices in the Great Lakes region rose last month following issues at the BP refinery in Whiting, Ind., but with production reported to have returned to normal, prices in Ohio and most nearby states have moved lower.
