Pump prices ease, but are still high

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gas prices around central Ohio are among some of the highest in the state but have still retreated from the price motorists were paying on Friday.

The average price for regular gasoline Monday morning was $3.20, according to a daily survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s up 12 cents from this time last week.

Experts say we may already have seen the lowest prices of 2013, thanks to a recent jump in wholesale prices.

The statewide average of $3.18 was 10 cents higher but a few cents less than the national average of $3.21.

The state average is still 21 cents lower than a month ago, and 29 cents lower than a year ago.

ColumbusGasPrices.com reports prices for regular in the area range from $3.07 and $3.29 a gallon.
