COLUMBUS – Scranton/Wilkes-Barre completed a three-game sweep of the Clippers with a 10-6 win on Thursday.
Despite losing nine of its last 12 games, Columbus maintains a 7-game lead over Indianapolis in the International League West Division.
The RailRiders have sent dozens of balls out of Huntington Park this season and Thursday’s game did not deviate from the trend. Wendell Rijo’s grand slam highlighted a five-run fifth inning and was one of three homers off the bats of RailRiders hitters.
Aaron Civale (3-1) took the loss for the Clippers while Adonis Rosa (3-0) pitched five shutout innings to get the win.
The Gwinnett Stripers come to Columbus for a three-game weekend series that begins Friday night.
