RailRiders 11, Clippers 6

COLUMBUS – The Clippers dropped the opening game of a three-game series to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 11-6, Tuesday night at Huntington Park.

It was the fourth loss in the last five games against the International League North-leading RailRiders.

Columbus starter Michael Peoples (7-4) gave up seven runs on 11 hits in his 4 1/3 innings on the mound, including a three-run home run to Tyler Wade in the first inning and a two-run shot to Thairo Estrada and a solo homer toClint Frazier, both in the fifth inning, when Scranton took a 7-3 lead.

Ka’ai Ton went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and scored a run for the Clippers.

Brady Lail (1-0) got the win for the RailRiders.

Game two of the series is Wednesday night.
