COLUMBUS – Thairo Estrada’s RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning broke a 6-all tie and sent the Clippers to their sixth loss in eight games.
Columbus dropped three of their four games in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but remain nine games ahead of Indianapolis in the International League West Division.
The Clippers clawed their way back from a 6-3 deficit only to see the game slip from their grasp.
Bobby Bradley’ two-run home run in the first inning helped the Clippers to an early lead but Columbus was trailing, 6-5, in the seventh when Yu Chang brought Brandon Barnes around from second base with the tying run on a double to left field.
The lead was short-lived as Estrada’s liner to left off losing pitcher Jon Edwards (4-1) knocked in Wendell Rijo with the game-winner.
Jonathan Holder (1-1) got the win for the RailRiders who lead the IL East.
The Clippers open a three-game series at Buffalo Friday night.
