MOOSIC, Pa. – The Clippers dropped both games of a doubleheader at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Wednesday.
The RailRiders won the first game 6-0 on the strength of a dominating performance by starter Chance Adams (3-1) who struck out 21 hitters over six innings of the seven-inning game.
A short-lived rally in the seventh inning of the second game was not enough to overcome a 4-1 deficit. Despite Eddy Rodriguez’s two-run homer, the Clippers lost, 4-3, in a game in which they were technically the home team because it was a makeup of a rained-out game in Columbus from May 25.
The Clippers wrap up their series in Scranton Thursday night before moving on to Syracuse for a three-game series.
