COLUMBUS – Willians Astudillo’s tie-breaking solo home run in the sixth inning gave the Rochester Red Wings a 4-3 win over the Clippers in the opening game of a three-game series at Frontier Field Tuesday night.
Eric Haase gave the Clippers a 2-1 lead with a two-run home run in the second inning. Greg Allen added a solo homer for Columbus.
LP Michael Peoples (3-3) struck out seven hitters but took the loss for the Clippers.
Cody Stashak (1-0) got the win in relief for Rochester.
The two teams play the second game of the series Wednesday night.
