COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers rallied from a three-run deficit but gave up two late runs in a 5-3 loss to Rochester Wednesday night.
After Columbus scored three runs in the top of the eight to erase a 3-0 deficit, Jeff Manship (0-2) took over in the bottom of the inning and surrendered two runs on a two-out single by James Beresford.
Tyler Holt, representing the go-ahead run, was stranded on first base in the ninth inning as the game ended.
Trailing 3-0 in the, James Ramsey scored on a single by Francisco Lindor, Tyler Holt went home on a bases-loaded walk and Carlos Moncrief scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Jesus Aguilar.
The Clippers can earn a split of the four-game series with a win in Thursday’s game.
