ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Zack Granite grand slam in the fourth inning broke a 2-all tie and led the Rochester Red Wings to a 6-2 win over the Clippers in the second game of a three-game series at Frontier Field Tuesday night.
The Clippers got on the board with first-inning RBI singles by Ronny and Nellie Rodriguez but the Red Wings tied up the score on a two-run double by Daniel Palka in the third, followed by Granite’s blast to right field an inning later.
Jarrett Grube (5-6) took the loss after allowing six runs and nine hits over four innings.
Rochester left-hander Nik Turley (5-4) picked up the win after allowing two runs on six hits over five innings.
The two teams play the rubber match Wednesday at 1:35 p.m.
