MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A ninth-inning Clippers rally came up short as Columbus fell to the Memphis Redbirds, 14-12, Saturday night.
Juan Yepez’ grand slam in the third inning and three-run shot in the eighth led the Redbird’s attack as Memphis built a 14-8 lead.
Nolan Jones and Will Benson led the Clippers rally with solo homers but Brandon Dickson struck out Trenton Brooks to end the game.
Thomas Parsons (2-6) pitched 1 2/3 inning without allowing a hit to get the win for Memphis.
Heath Fillmyer (2-6) was saddled with a fifth loss in his last six outings.
