Remembering the missing

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus woman who has been missing for nearly 12 years will serve as a symbol for all the missing adults from central Ohio on Saturday when almost 100 people will search the area where she was last seen once, hoping to find some clue to her whereabouts.

EXTRA: Missing persons in Columbus. Have you seen them?

At least two dozen Columbus police officers, along with 50 family members, friends and other volunteers will pass out fliers to people in the area where Carla Losey went missing in the early-morning hours of New Year’s Day 2003, in hopes of uncovering information that will lead them to her, police spokesman Sgt. Rich Weiner said.

Losey, who would now be 32 years old, was last seen leaving the El Grottos in the 2300 block of West Broad Street.

The canvassing will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Police hopes the event will help raise awareness of other missing persons in Columbus, Weiner said.
