Reports: Gee to West Virginia

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Retired Ohio State University President Gordon Gee is reportedly going back to where he got his start.

Reports out of West Virginia and Ohio say Gee is expected to be introduced today as the interim president of West Virginia University.

Gee was West Virginia’s president in the early 1980s, after serving as the dean of its law school.

The school’s Board of Governor’s approved the selection of an interim president yesterday during an emergency meeting, but the name was not released.

The interim President will replace Jim Clements, who announced last month he is leaving at the end of the year for Clemson. The board of governors has set June 5 as the date to have a new president approved by the Higher Education Policy Commission.
