COLUMBUS – More than 150 community events are planned around central Ohio for Tuesday’s 35th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.
Events scheduled from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. include live music, porch light vigils, cookouts and kid-friendly activities.
Citizens are encouraged to contact their local Block watch leaders or community liaison officer to find events in their communities.
Organizers say National Night Out is designed to promote police-community partnerships; heighten crime, drug and violence awareness; generate support for anti-crime efforts; and build neighborhood unity.
