Rollover crash kills 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An 18-year-old man was killed and two others injured in a single-car accident on the Northeast Side late Monday night, police said.

Investigators say Abdulrahman Jasim was driving a 2000 Honda Passport westbound on Cooke Road just after 11:30 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle as he approached Overbrook Drive and ran off the road.

The vehicle went airborne, rolled over and crossed a ravine. Police say Jasim was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers — Ahmed Al Anfaji, 17, and Ahmed Alaa, 19 — were taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

This is the 55th traffic fatality in Columbus in 2014.
