COLUMBUS (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan and Republican JD Vance are deflecting accusations that they’re political lapdogs to their parties.
They spoke Monday during their second debate for Ohio’s open U.S. Senate seat.
Vance challenged Ryan’s record of support for the wall at the southern U.S. border.
Ryan criticized the venture capitalist and author of Hillbilly Elegy for failing to take the Jan. 6 insurrection seriously.
On abortion, Vance said he backs a national abortion ban at 15 weeks, but also supports certain exceptions.
Ryan said supports codifying Roe v. Wade and finds the national abortion ban extreme.
