COLUMBUS – Authorities in southeastern Ohio are asking for the public to keep an eye out for a K-9 officer who ran away from her home Sunday and did not return.

Hocking County Sheriff’s K-9 Ilka was playing with her handler, Deputy Rick Torchick, at their home just outside of Laurelville, in Pickaway County, between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m, when Ilka saw a deer and chased the animal, according to an advisory from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s office.
Ilka was wearing a chain choker collar, according to the advisory.
Anyone who sees Ilka or has any information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Hocking County Sheriffs Office at 740-385-2131.
