Search resumes for 6-year-old boy dumped in Ohio River by mom

CINCINNATI – Crews resumed searching the Ohio River Sunday for the body a 6-year-old Ohio boy who police say died when his mother tried to abandon him at a park and drive away but he grabbed for a door and was dragged.

Police believe the boy’s mother and her boyfriend dumped the body into the river last weekend.

Brittany Gosney, of Middletown, has been indicted on 16 counts, including murder and corpse abuse.

Her boyfriend was indicted on 15 counts, including corpse abuse and tampering with evidence.

Authorities say the 29-year-old told investigators her son, James Hutchinson, was killed at a park in southern Preble County when he grabbed for a vehicle door and was dragged as she drove away.

Butler County court records listed no attorney for the couple.
