COLUMBUS, Ohio – An accident involving a pickup truck and a school bus on a busy downtown Columbus street has claimed a second life.
William Lewis, an official in the City of Columbus engineer’s office, died at Grant Medical Center Monday night of injuries he suffered in the Dec. 12 accident, Columbus police said.
Lewis, 58, and Stephanie Fibelkorn, 21, were walking along the sidewalk at Broad and High Streets when a pickup ran a red light and struck a Groveport-Madison Local Schools bus, driving both vehicles onto the sidewalk where Lewis and Fibelkorn were walking.
Fibelkorn died of her injuries at the scene.
Three other people, including the school bus driver, were injured.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
