COLUMBUS – A pedestrian was killed early Thursday on a stretch of West Side roadway less than a mile away from where another fatal pedestrian-involved accident happened about 48 hours earlier.
UPDATE 4/24/20 7:17 a.m.: The victim of this accident was identified as Kody Robinsons, 34, of Columbus.
Dina Wilkins, 54, of Columbus, driving southbound on Harrisburg Pike, north of Rosemont Avenue in Franklin Township at 12:58 a.m. Thursday when her 2006 Hyundai Sonata struck a pedestrian who was in the southbound lane of travel, Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
Witnesses contacted 911 and Franklin Township police and fire department personnel responded to the scene along with deputies from Baldwin’s office.
The pedestrian, whose name was not released because their family had not been notified, was pronounced dead at the scene 1:08am by responding medics.
Wikins was not injured.
The accident happened less than a mile from the scene of a crash Monday night where a man in a wheelchair was killed by a hit-skip driver.
