Severe weather

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The nation’s mid-section was whalloped with severe weather overnight and forecasters say it’s headed our way.

The storms brought baseball-sized hail and severe flooding in some areas. Especially hard-hit was Omaha. Trained spotters say they saw tornadoes in central and southwest Iowa and southwest Kansas but those reports have not been confirmed.

A warm front along with a passing cold front will bring showers and storms to central Ohio this afternoon, ABC6/FOX28 meteorologist Dana Turtle said.

He says large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats along with heavy rain and isolated tornadoes.
