COLUMBUS – Two men are facing drug charges after a raid that led to the recovery of more than a quarter of a million dollars’ worth of heroin authorities say was smuggled in from Mexico.

A month-long investigation culminated Monday afternoon in the arrests of two West Side men when members of the Franklin County Drug Task Force raided a home on Muirwood Village Drive and seized over six pounds of heroin valued at $277,500, Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
Detectives determined the drugs were brought to central Ohio from Mexico, Baldwin said.
Candelario Garcia Diaz, 59 and RickiAdam Canfield, 27, were charged with possession of heroin, a felony, and Baldwin says investigators determined that Diaz was in the U.S. illegally.
Trafficking charges for both men are likely, pending further investigation, Baldwin said.
